According to the concept of the International League against Epilepsy and the criteria of the European Academy of Epileptology (Eurepa), since 2003, our Union of Leagues initiated the series (cycle) of Epilepsy schools.

Pharmaceutical companies partly supported the organization of the 16th Epilepsy School. No special promotion of any antiepileptic drug is encouraged.

Seventeenth Epilepsy School rallied invited students from Serbia, Montenegro, Republic of Srpska/Bosnia Herzegovina. The course was limited to a maximum of 34 applicants to allow an optimal level of interaction with the trainees. Applicants were selected on the basis of their submitted case report paper.
Applicants,whosuccessfullyrealizedtheWorkshopprogram, receivedtheCERTIFICATE.
By decision No. 153-02-2768/2016-01from 18.08.2016, the Health Council of Serbia has accredited program “Etiology of epileptic seizures- key for the therapeutic decision” (A-1-2006/14) as the 1st category educational, national course with12/6credit points for lecturers/participants.
A CD with Proceedings(ISBN 86-84963-60-6) was prepared and included slide-handouts of lectures. That material was distributed to all applicants during the education.

Post-school optional visit to the Monastery New Jazak (1736-1758) and to the church dedicated to St.Trinity.
Speakers were asked to timely prepare and submit hand-outs of theirs power-point presentations. This material was collected in a form of CD and it was distributed to all applicants during the school.
Before the beginning of the school, each applicant has prepared with Case report from his own clinical epileptology practice. Reported cases were further discussed. Case reports presentation were organized as small-group sessions. Sessions were coordinated and evaluated by (co)moderators (minimum 2 per session).

A Group of 30 students finished the 18th Epilepsy School.
SOCIAL PROGRAM
The orthodox Monastery of Jazak in the Fruska Gora was originated in the 16th century. The present Monastery (New Jazak) was built between 1736 and 1758. Church was dedicated to the St.Trinity.The remains of St.Uroš (1337-1367), son of the Serbian Emperor Dušan the Great, are returned to the Monastery church.Optional visit to the monastery was organized after the School.
