Seventh Epilepsy School was organized by the Yugoslav Union of Leagues Against Epilepsy and co-organized by the Medical School of University in Podgorica. It has taken place in Podgorica during November 11-12, 2005. Educational cyclus of 3 Epilepsy schools yearly was finalized for 2005.
Eight, 4-days Epilepsy School was organized in Niska Banja. In addition, an International EEG School will take place in Vrsac, September 29-30, October 1st 2006.
The 8th school was primarily targeted at applicants interested in epileptology and who wish to refine their skills in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of epilepsy in patients, through the different ages. Physicians who are pursuing their training or have specialized in neurology, neuropsychiatry, pediatric neurology, pediatrics and clinical neurophysiology were welcome to apply.

• Eight Epilepsy School rallied invited students from Serbia, Montenegro and R. Macedonia. The course was limited to a maximum of 35 applicants to allow an optimal level of interaction with the trainees. Applicants were selected on the basis of their case report paper submitted
• Scientific programme was provided.
• Pharmaceutical companies (in alphabetical order) GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen-Cilag, Novartis and Pfizer) supported the organization of the 8th School.
• No special promotion of any antiepileptic drug is encouraged during the Epilepsy School.
• Applicants who successfully realized the School program, will receive CERTIFICATE, signed by Prof.dr Peter Wolf ILAE and EUREPA President and Prof.dr Nebojsa Jovic, Manager of the educative program of the 8th Epilepsy School and EUREPA certified trainer.
• Formal attendance to the presentations was not eligible.
• According to the Credit point system for educational courses with activities with medium size participation and comprising the work in small groups, this 8th Epilepsy School organized by the Yugoslav ILAE Chapter is accreditated as EUREPA teaching course
For the curriculum for European Certification in Epileptology for Medical Doctors, participation in this course is awarded 42 Credit Points for the core curriculum “Clinical Epileptology”.

REGISTRATION FEE
Registration fee of 50 Еur (payment was made in Serbian dinars).
Registration fee for participants include: Accommodation, admission to the Scientific Sessions, School material (Program, Book of Proceedings or Hand-outs), coffee breaks, lunch, get-together reception, gala-dinner and Certificate of attendance.
Registration fee of 25 Еur – for participants without need for the accommodation in a Hotel (payment was made in Serbian dinars).

(MS Power Point presentation). Each working group (2-3 students) will have access to separate PC unit. Topic will be randomly selected from a list of epilepsy themes.
List of topics was selected upon suggestions made by students in the Application forms.
Speakers were asked to timely prepare and submit either integral texts or hand-outs of theirs power-point presentations. This material was printed in a form of Proceedings entitled ”Epileptological topics IV ”(ISBN 86-83665-04-6) and in addition in manual with slide-handouts of lectures. That material was distributed to all applicants before the school (Fig.2 and 3).
According to the rules for accreditation of courses, made by the European Epilepsy Academy, the presentation of each speaker was evaluated. The evaluation sheets were distributed at the entrance and collected after the communications.
Before the beginning of the school, each applicant has prepared and sent/delivered manuscript with:
1) Case report from his own clinical epileptology practice or
2) Review of one epileptology topics.
Paper preparation has been done according to special instructions.
Reported cases are further discussed. Case reports presentation were organized as a small-group sessions. Sessions were coordinated and evaluated by (co)moderators (minimum 2 per session). (Figures 4-6)
Each evaluator was asked to assess the quality of case reported, comprising : 1.) Anamnesis and Classification, 2.) Diagnostics, 3.) Therapeutic decision, 4.) Terminology and 5.) Conclusions.
Case reports which have not been presented on platform, was evaluated later, according to same principles.
School Secretary send by e-mail all comments and notes concerning quality of case reported during small group work.
For the first time in the practice of Yugoslav ILAE Chapter, school was organised in three working days.
During the third and fouth working day, participants have prepared and presented assigned epileptology topics (in the form of MS Power Point presentation). List of epileptology topics are available (s. bellow)
Selection of assigned topics and working groups (2 participants) have been performed on random manner. Each working group have access to separate PC unit and consultation with (co)moderators.
Moreover, majority of participants showed the extraordinary enthusiasm and interest, and used to spent lot of free hours for assigned task too. Working atmosphere, collegial spirit and amazing commitment has been highly impressive (Pictures 7-10 Small group work). Pharmaceutical companies provided one part of material (articles, journals, books) required for the work.
Consequently, presentation of assigned topic has been on high quality level. Presentations of assigned topics have been performed in three separate sessions, coordinated and evaluated by at least 2 (co)moderators. Each topic has been presented and discussed.
