According to the concept of the International League against Epilepsy and the criteria of the European Academy of Epileptology (Eurepa), since 2003, our Union of Leagues initiated the series (cycle) of Epilepsy schools.
First Epilepsy school in the series was held in Šabac, on November 28th 2003 and brought together 28 participants involved in the developmental epileptology from Serbia, Montenegro and FYR of Macedonia.
During 2003-2006 Union of Leagues organized 8 Epilepsy Schools (Belgrade, Podgorica, Niš, Iriški venac, Niška Banja). Eighth Epilepsy School has taken place in Niška Banja during June 01- 04, 2006. In addition, our Union of Leagues organized two International EEG /Epilepsy Schools:
1. Clinical EEG in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsies-workshop (Vršac, September 29 – October 1,2006) (Sponsors: Sanofi-Aventis, Hemofarm concern)
2. 1st Migrating Course on Epilepsy, Babe, May 27-June 3, 2007 (ILAE, EAC)
The 9th school was primarily targeted at applicants interested in epileptology and who wish to refine their skills in the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of epilepsy in patients, through the different ages. Physicians who are pursuing their training or have specialized in neurology, neuropsychiatry, pediatric neurology, pediatrics and clinical neurophysiology were welcome to apply.

For the curriculum for European Certification in Epileptology for Medical Doctors (EUREPA), participation in this course is awarded 27 Credit Points for the core curriculum “Clinical Epileptology”.
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration fee of 100 Еur (payment was also made in Serbian dinars).
Registration fee for participants include: Accommodation, admission to the Scientific Sessions, School material (Program, Book of Proceedings or Hand-outs), coffee breaks, lunch, get-together reception, gala-dinner and Certificate of attendance.
Registration fee of 50 Еur– for participants without need for the accommodation in a Hotel
No travel expenses are included.

Applicants who successfully realized the School program, received CERTIFICATE, signed by Prof.dr Giuliano Avanzini ILAE President and Prof.dr Nebojsa Jovic, Manager of the educative program of the 9th Epilepsy School and EUREPA certified trainer (Figure – Certificate).
List of topics was selected upon suggestions made by students in the Application forms.
Speakers were asked to timely prepare and submit either integral texts or hand-outs of theirs power-point presentations. This material was printed in a form of Proceedings entitled ”Epileptological topics V ”(ISBN 978 86-84963-11-8) and in addition in manual with slide-handouts of lectures. That material was distributed to all applicants before the school
According to the rules for accreditation of courses, made by the European Epilepsy Academy -EUREPA, the presentation of each speaker was evaluated. The evaluation sheets were distributed at the entrance and collected after the communications.
